Do you ship catalogues or brochures?
We do not currently ship catalogues or brochures. We work hard to ensure that all the information for our products is available on our site, including measuring instructions, installation instructions, color charts and care/warranty information.

Are the colors for your products accurate?
Although we do our best to make sure that the colors printed on our site are accurate, actual colors may vary due to subtle color differences and textures that may not be fully appreciated on some monitors and/or display cards. The best way to ensure you’ll be happy with your color is to request a personal display of catalogue at your premises – it’s free! Once you receive your sample, keep in mind that all samples may still have minimal color variations as stated by the manufacturers. We’d also like to suggest that you order all of your blinds of a given color at one time, since there can be slight variations between dye lots.

Does your site show what fabric products will look like with light coming through?
“Back lighting” happens when light filters in through translucent fabrics from behind. Our swatches don’t show you the effect of back lighting, which can soften colors and highlight fabric textures. If you’d like to see how back lighting affects the color or texture of a particular material, you should request a sample from us. How do I measure my windows ?
Inside mount

WIDTH

Measure the inside width of the Window Recess. We would always recommend measuring the top, middle and bottom in case the recess is out of square and then using the narrowest Measurement.

DROP

Measure the inside drop of the Recess. We would always recommend measuring the far left hand side, the centre and the far right hand side and then using the shortest measurement. When Recess sizes are given Johnson Blinds will take all the nessasary adjustments to ensure you Receive a Perfect Fitting.

Outside mount

WIDTH

When measuring the width decide how much you would like the blind to overlap the window recess. We would recommend a minimum of 10 cm each side although this is largely down to personal preference. Please take care to account for any obstacles that may interrupt the usage of the blind.

DROP

When measuring the drop decide how much you would like the blind to overlap the window recess. We would recommend a minimum of 10 cm above to allow for convenient fixing of the mounting brackets. The bottom overlap is very much personal preference.

Note: always first mention the width & then Drop .Preferable measurement in feet or inches.
What is the difference between inside mount and outside mount?
An inside mount is when the blind, shade, or shutter fits inside of the window opening. Mounting as an inside mount generally has a cleaner, neater look. An outside mount is when the blind or shade is mounted above and around the window frame, and can be used if there isn’t enough depth to mount the product inside the opening. Sliding glass doors and wood cased shallow windows are popular outside mount choices.

How to clean window blinds?

Window Binds, Roller blinds are most popular these days for window decorations, but just like anything else in a house, they can accumulate dust and dirt over time. Natural dust from the house, fabric dust, wool pollutant, splashed food, and even small bugs can soil your blinds, but luckily, cleaning roller blinds is a simple undertaking that only requires a few minutes of your time to keep your window treatments looking their best.

  1. Vacuum Cleaning and Wiping down window Blinds

Depending on how aged window blinds are, you need to spend some time bring back the normal entire swath of window blinds material. You may be tempted to just clean the section of your blinds that is regularly exposed to the room, but if you do that, you risk discoloring the blinds over time. Plug in your vacuum and attach the brush tool so it is ready to use. Then, turn on the vacuum and start cleaning your blinds at the top, moving the brush wand from the left to the right, making your way down toward the bottom.
Roller blinds can collect a lot of dirt, dust, and even small bugs sometimes! Vacuuming them first to remove what debris you can makes the wiping down process much quicker to complete. Start vacuum cleanin to remove dust from the blinds. Then you can wipe the blinds down with a soft cotton to remove any fabric dust and grime buildup.
